Recent Storms In Denver and Shillington Could Create Perfect Conditions For Mold

8/28/2023 (Permalink)

An opened up ceiling shows mold all over the inside of the ceiling and water damage to the wood and sheet rock. Mold in a ceiling.

Recent storms seem to have passed and things are drying up, but current humid conditions could be creating the perfect atmosphere for mold. Make sure to keep a look out in the following areas for mold growth and moisture damage:

  • Ceiling
  • Basement
  • Around doors and window frames

After a storm you may notice some discoloration or even puddling happening on your ceiling if you have a leaking roof. Be sure to call us at (717) 484-0007 if you're noticing these signs as water from the damage can travel throughout the walls and create more water damage in other areas of your house. Sometimes after a storm you may notice puddles or worse in your basement. Getting them cleaned up before they become a bio-hazard should be a priority.

Checking around your doors is easy enough, but many people don't think to check around their windows because they are covered by curtains. Just placing a hand along the walls beside and below your window could help you catch moisture damage that may be collecting in the walls before it spreads and becomes worse.

If you find any of these issues after a storm give us a call! Here at SERVPRO of Adamstown/Mohnton we are available 24/7 to help.
